The film also has some memorable songs that add to the mood and atmosphere of the film. The film has a stellar cast that delivers impressive performances. Sanjay Dutt is outstanding as Baba, the loyal and fearless gangster who loves his brother and his girlfriend. Aditya Pancholi is convincing as Nawab, the greedy and treacherous friend who betrays Baba. Raveena Tandon and Karishma Kapoor are charming and glamorous as Pooja and Nisha, the love interests of Avinash and Baba. Atul Agnihotri is sincere as Avinash, the honest and dutiful police officer who faces a dilemma between his duty and his family. Tanuja is touching as the mother who suffers for her sons. Ajit and Gulshan Grover are effective as Uncle and Sunny, the rival dons who control the underworld.

The film is not without its flaws, however. The film has a long runtime of 155 minutes, which could have been trimmed to avoid some unnecessary scenes and subplots. The film also has some clichés and stereotypes that are typical of Bollywood movies of that era, such as the melodramatic dialogues, the coincidences, the item songs, and the moral preaching. The film also has some logical loopholes and inconsistencies that may irk some viewers.
